2-4 coaching assignments each year typically follow a pattern similar to this one:
A senior financial executive for this global healthcare company was stalled in his attempts to move up to the organization’s highest rank. His feedback was decidedly negative regarding his interpersonal skills, leadership approach, and teambuilding failures. The CFO to whom he reported suggested a coaching experience for this executive, who called us on a referral. We spent the time to get to know this executive – background, personality, goals, strengths, weaknesses, and accomplishments – and then conducted confidential interviews with the people with whom the exec regularly interacted. We also were on-site at times to observe his work style personally. The collective assessment results led to an individualized coaching engagement. This required approximately 2-3 hours/week over three months. Approximately eight months later, issues resolved, the individual was promoted and continues to perform to expectations.
